Fire & EMS Grant Program
The PA Office of the State Fire Commissioner has opened the application for the 2023-2024 Fire Company and Emergency Medical Services Grant Program (FCEMSGP).
The grant program is available annually for volunteer and career fire companies, emergency medical services, and rescue squads. Eligible applicants can make an online grant application at the following link:
As you know, the maximum grant award amounts were increased by the General Assembly last year:
· Fire Companies – $20,000 max; $2,500 min (up from $15k)
· EMS Companies – $15,000 max; $2,500 min (up from $10k)

Just a reminder: if you have NOT provided the report for the COVID 19 or the FCEMS grant from 2022, you are not eligible to apply until you have filed the report. The extended deadline was September 1, 2023.

The Pennsylvania Fire & Emergency Services Institute is an educational, non-profit association of emergency service organizations, emergency responders, industry and public service professionals who research, exchange information, and cultivate relationships among constituents about the issues affecting emergency response and life safety in the state of Pennsylvania. Our mission is to use combined knowledge and efforts to better protect the industry and those who serve within it.
Advocacy
PFESI advocates for the sustainment and improvement of fire and emergency services across Pennsylvania. We work with various groups to gain consensus and provide recommendations to the General Assembly, Executive Branch, and administrative agencies.
Professional Development
PFESI conducts professional development for a variety of organizations. The efforts include improving relationships between emergency services organizations and local governments, increasing awareness on the issues identified in SR-6, and fire service strategic planning.
Engagement
PFESI conducts outreach to various partners and communities throughout Pennsylvania. The goal of these outreach efforts is to increase awareness and promote engagement in the legislative process. These efforts also improve the visibility of PFESI.
Town Hall Meetings
PFESI has conducted and will continue to conduct a series of open Town Hall style meetings with members of the Pennsylvania Fire Service. Our goal is to seek local input and ideas on how we can effectively prepare for the current and future challenges facing organizations.
Conference Participation / Vendor
PFESI participates as a vendor in several conferences. The goal of attending is to expand our influence, answer questions, and build relationships.
Coordination with Key Partners
PFESI works with many key partners at the local, county, state, and federal level. The success of our organization is built over the ability to achieve consensus and partner with those who have in interest in sustaining and improving Pennsylvania’s Fire and Emergency Services Organizations.
